Support Us

Citizens Advice Somerset is a local charity that has been supporting people living and working in Somerset for over 80 years.

Your support is vital in helping us make a difference

A lot has changed since we first opened our doors but our commitment to providing free and independent advice, especially for the most vulnerable remains unchanged. As an independent charity we rely on grant funding and the support of people like you to continue to make a difference.

Any help – large or small – will go a long way toward providing direct support for people in hardship in Somerset or increasing our capacity to train volunteers and deliver more advice.

If you’d like to help us ensure that everyone has somewhere trusted to turn to for free and accessible help and advice, you can support us in the following ways:

Last year...

we delivered our service with the support of over 120 volunteers and 70 paid staff.

Our impact reached...

over 23,000 Somerset residents and we achieved over £5.1 million in income gains for our clients, which in turn benefits the whole county.

Every Penny Counts...

£21 will provide a telephone advice session so that someone can move forward with their life

£41 will provide in-person advice appointment to a vulnerable client

£1800 will train one of our dedicated volunteers – although it can cost up to £3,000 to do this to a more specialist level

Individual Giving

Are you interested in donating to a particular project, or would like to thank Citizens Advice Somerset for support that you received? Making a one off donation or a monthly standing order is the perfect way to do this.

Whatever you can afford will always be appreciated and will ensure we can continue to support those most in need in Somerset.

If you want to donate to a particular specialist service, please make this known at the time of donation, as any funds will otherwise be used to provide advice to as many people as possible through early help and prevention.

Remembering Citizens Advice Somerset by leaving a gift in your will, no matter what size, will have a lasting impact on the support that we are able to provide to the community.

Did you know that you might save £400 of inheritance tax for every £1,000 you leave to charity? (but please take tax advice). Even 1% can help us make a real difference to people who need advice in Somerset.

The only information you need for your will is our name, Citizens Advice Somerset and our charity number 1054134. Imagine what you can help us achieve.
